Podcast 4: Now with Sound 2.0!*

Alright, now just about everyone who listened to the "first" podcast had something to say about the sound quality. We know: it sucked! Sorry. But thanks to AoD's hard work and a new recording technique you'll be able to hear some things much better, while others (such as the edit cuts) should be nearly indetectable.

This podcast covers episodes 12-16 of Star Trek: The Next Generation, Season 1. Our "Special" guest for this podcast is Anon..

Various topics discussed in this podcast include:
Holo-Cancer (00:07:00)
Humans have an off-switch! (00:19:30)

The nature of competition (00:42:50)
Forgiveness vs. Permission (00:57:00)
Workohol - mmm, tasty (01:06:25)
Objectivism (01:12:00)
The Fountain of Youth (01:13:00)
Giving in to Terrorist Demands (01:22:15)

Here are the ratings that we gave for each show:

Episode 3: So It Begins...

Welcome to the third episode of our new podcast. Third you might ask? Well, due to catastrophic hardware failure, the "first" podcast will actually be "Episode 3", covering episodes 7 through 11 of Star Trek: The Next Generation, Season 1.

Here are the ratings that we gave for each show:
Lonely Among Us:
Joey: SciFi - 3 Television - 1
Peter: SciFi - 2 Television - 1

Justice
Joey: SciFi - 5 Television - 1
Peter: SciFi - 4 Television - 2

The Battle
Joey: SciFi - 6.5 Television - 3
Peter: SciFi - 5 Television - 3

Hide & Q
Joey: SciFi - 7 Television - 3
Peter: SciFi - 6 Television - 3

Haven
Joey: SciFi - 2.5 Television - 4
Peter: SciFi - 3 Television - 2
We had recorded our comments on the episode of Haven, but due to some lag the recording was horribly jumbled and basically useless. The episode itself wasn't really that great so we did not feel the need to try and re-record it. Here are a few note-worthy items from the episode of haven: We get to meet Lwaxana Troi (Deana's mother) for the first time. At a wedding celebration dinner for Deana and Wyatt, Deana explodes in anger and yells at everyone to stop their "petty bickering" and storms off. Data then asks, in child like exuberance, if everyone would please continue the petty bickering, as he "finds it most intriguing." The unfortunate effects of biological warfare are discussed.

A lot of hard work went into this, and we both hope you will enjoy listening to it as much as we enjoyed making it. Feel free to comment and give your 2-cents about it.

Welcome to Trek West 5

We love television. I think it is a great medium for entertainment as well as discussion about various topics of the day.

My friend Joey and I decided that we wanted to review some of the television shows that we like and discuss them. We do not claim to be experts in any way. We do consider ourselves to be intelligent and funny and as such we thought we had something to say. We welcome you to listen in.

As we review each show we will go over: the things that we liked and disliked about each tv episode; various political, philosophical, and humorous items; and then give each show a rating (between 1 and 10) based on its genre and as a general episode of tv.

Look to the near future for us to begin...
